Yesterday was a good day. First of all, it was Sherri's birthday, so we celebrated (as much as we could with just the two of us). We celebrated by going out to the mountains. We went to the Coastal Mountains, seeing Mt. Seymour (I think), and Cypress Mountain. We went for a short hike (as much as a 7-month pregnant woman can handle) in Mt. Seymour Provincial Park, seeing a little lake (Rice Lake, much much smaller than the one in Ontario), and then went to Lynn Canyon Provincial Park and stood on the Lynn Canyon Suspension Bridge, taking pictures of the river over 100 feet below. After this we went to Cypress mountain and drove as high as we could. We got to a height where there was snow, and at about 1 kilometre above sea level, we could go no higher, since they were doing construction to get ready for the 2010 Winter Games. It was really neat. The road zig-zagged up the mountain, and you pretty much had to ride the brakes all the way down, or you would go way to fast.
After this, which took a few hours, we drove back here (slowly, because of the horrible Vancouver traffic) and did a little shopping, and then went out for dinner for Sherri's birthday (thanks Mom Keep for the East Side Mario's gift cards...)
When we returned home, it was to find that the Dykstras were having a get together, as it had been Mr. Dykstra's birthday earlier this week, so we got to meet some of their family.
Today is our last 'free' day before I start my internship, but we don't have much planned, except doing some shopping for some groceries, I think, and getting our camera cleaned (it got some dust in it, and I tried to clean it but made it worse...I'll never try that again.) When that is done, hopefully Sherri will post some pictures. She's planning on starting a photo blog or some-such. But, as people who have been out here know, pictures don't do it justice.
