Interesting Quote:

In my Old Testament readings this week, I ran across this interesting quote, which I think covers more than just the task of writing a history of the Old Testament. I think all Biblical or Theological disciplines could fit under this idea, indeed, anything or anyone who professes to believe in the Bible is subject to this general principle.

This quote is taken from the book Kingdom of Priests: a History of Old Testament Israel, by Eugene H. Merrill (p. 16):

By virtue of our confession that we are under the authority of the very sources we are investigating, we have already surrendered our right to reject what we cannot understand of what we find difficult to believe.
And this only on the second page of our readings! Hopefully the rest of the book is as exciting.
