Anyways, for all you doubters out there who think that I am more excited about Logos than my own child, here's the best picture Sherri and I have in our house, taken the day before Good Friday:


Seeing the ultrasound being taken was one of the neatest experiences I have ever had. I could see the baby moving about (she wouldn't keep her hands still for the ultrasound technician) and her heart beating, and the outline of her facial features. Really, really exciting.

Anyways, since I first felt the baby moving around and kicking Sherri, she has been at it quite regularly. She seems to be very active. Well, very active for a short time, and then quiet for a while, then active again, especially when Sherri is laying down (and sometimes sitting in church).

I sat for a while last night with my hand over the baby feeling her move. And the only response I had was to laugh at the wonderment of it all--I can't even imagine how it must feel to Sherri. It boggles the mind that there is a living person inside her, an almost completely separate person growing in my wife. God's ways are indeed amazing, even if we cannot understand them.

So Far, Perhaps My Life's Most Memorable Moment:

Last evening, while Sherri and I were sitting on the couch reading, she started getting kicked by the baby. This has happened before, but this is the first time that I got to feel the baby move. It was a faint movement, so that I was not entirely sure that I felt what I thought I felt, but Sherri assured me that it was indeed our child kicking her.

To all you already-parents out there, I finally understand how cool that really is. And to all you not-yet-parents, that is perhaps one of the best things to experience in this wonderful creation.

Oh, and to all you who had not heard, as you could probably have guessed, Sherri and I are expecting our first child.
